“Breast cancer survivors need a nonprofit organization that has their best interests at heart and can prepare them for life after cancer. I believe Pink Door makes it possible for women to succeed by giving them invaluable tools to make their dreams come true.”

Women's Cancer Resource Center

Through speaking with many women cancer patients and survivors, it seemed that a lack of resources and information on many different aspects of what women cancer patients and survivors go through both during and after cancer were missing across the board. Therefore, Pink Door created Pink Door’s Online Women Cancer Patient and Survivor Resource Center to give women cancer patients and survivor’s resources, information on other partner nonprofits, articles, and other health-related/preventative information to act as guides to receiving help and understanding more about cancer.

"When my mother was stricken with bone cancer, it was heart-wrenching to see what she was going through. There were many times I went online to try and find more information on free counseling to help my mother have a better understanding of what she was going through during her challenging time. With all of the resources that are available to us, I unfortunately could not find one place that cohesively provided a significant amount of information so that I could truly help her and understand what she was going through. In addition, I could only imagine she would want to understand this information even more about her cancer and stages if there was one place she could find it. Based upon what we have been hearing from women cancer survivors associated with Pink Door is that they need more resources and information to truly understand what they are going through and feel as though they are not alone. A resource online that is accessible, easy, and truly provides information - the Houston area in particular. At that point, there was a need, Pink Door can now fulfill that need and provide a means to a more cumulative resource here in Houston."
